Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about licensing and pricing.

What is free, and what do I pay for?

GridForge Community is free under the MIT license, in production too, with no license key and no watermark. Pro adds the features listed as Pro on the pricing page, under a perpetual license for one application.

How much does Pro cost?

Pro is sold in three bands by team size: Pro at $499 for up to 10 developers, Pro Team at $1,199 for up to 50, and Pro Unlimited at $2,399 for any number. All three unlock the same features. Pro goes on sale on 31 December 2026.

Is this a subscription?

No. You pay once per application. Every band includes 12 months of updates and support. After that, renewal is optional: $199/year, $479/year or $959/year, depending on your band.

What happens if I stop renewing?

Nothing breaks. You keep using the versions released while your updates were active, in production, for good. You stop getting new versions and support until you renew.

What counts as one application?

One product, defined generously: its production deployment, its staging, development, test and preview environments, and every frontend that belongs to it. An admin console, a customer portal and an ops dashboard of the same product are one application. A different product needs its own license.

What happens when my team grows past 10 or 50 developers?

You pay the difference between bands: $700 to move from Pro to Pro Team, and $1,200 from Pro Team to Pro Unlimited. Moving up does not restart your 12 months of updates; they end on the same date as before. When you renew, you pay the renewal price of your new band.

Do you check how many developers we have?

No. Licensing works on trust. Pick the band that matches your team.

Can I use GridForge in a product I sell or deliver to clients?

Yes. Community is MIT, so you can use it in anything you build, including work for clients. A Pro license covers your own product, including one you sell, such as a SaaS app your customers pay for. If you pass GridForge on to others, for example a white-label app deployed for each client, a product whose users build their own applications, or a component library you resell, that goes through Enterprise.

What does Enterprise add?

Enterprise has the same features as Pro. It adds priority support with a stated response time, invoices and purchase orders, a custom agreement you can sign, completed security questionnaires and support for the version you stay on. It is quoted per agreement.

Why is Community MIT?

So any team can use GridForge in any project without a contract or a license key. Pro pays for the advanced features and for the work that keeps both editions moving.
